We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which we will meet, The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area (WHA) is located within the Country of six first nations being the Darkinjung, Dharawal, Dharug, Gundungurra, Wonnarua and Wiradjuri Traditional Owners.

The meeting will be held at the Hotel Mountain Heritage (Katoomba, NSW) from Wednesday, February 7, to Thursday, February 9, 2024.  There will be a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday, February 6, a conference dinner on the evening of Thursday, February 8.  Both will be at the Hotel Mountain Heritage.

Transport

There are a few options for travel after arrival at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD).  A popular option is the airport line train which runs frequently from the airport to central station. From central station an intercity train can take you to Katoomba. To travel via train you can use an opal card or credit/debit card to tap on and off public transport. The Hotel Mountain Heritage is a short walk from Katoomba station.

Katoomba is approximately 110km from the airport, and so Taxi or ride-sharing services are probably not a cost-effective way to travel. An estimated taxi ride costs between $300 to $400 one-way.

Accommodation

Please note that any emails from external parties offering to arrange accommodation for you are scams and should be ignored.  Unfortunately, this type of scam is not uncommon.  Here is a screenshot of one that circulated before the 2022 AustMS meeting at UNSW.

There are also many other accommodation options nearby of varying price and quality.
