We acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands on which we will meet, the muwinina and palawa.
The meeting will be held at the Rydges Hotel (Hobart, Tasmania) from Tuesday, February 7, to Thursday, February 9, 2023. There will be a welcome reception on the evening of Monday, February 6, in the courtyard of the 1898 Bar and a conference dinner on the evening of Wednesday, February 8, at the 1898 Restaurant.
To assist in navigating the venue, delegates can consult this map of North Hobart.
There are a few options for travel after arrival at Hobart Airport (HBA). A popular option is skybus which runs frequently between the airport and downtown Hobart. It is a 30min walk to the Rydges from downtown, but there are plenty of buses heading up Argyle and Elizabeth Streets. You can use a Greencard or pay the bus driver directly in cash, though you’ll need exact change. Taxi or ride-sharing services are also plentiful and may be more cost-effective if you are travelling with others. A typical taxi ride costs between $50 and $65 one-way.
We have negotiated discounted accommodation rates for registered participants at the Rydges Hotel. These must be booked before Nov. 8.
Please note that any emails from external parties offering to arrange accommodation for you are scams and should be ignored. Unfortunately, this type of scam is not uncommon. Here is a screenshot of one that circulated before the 2022 AustMS meeting at UNSW.
There are also many other accommodation options nearby of varying price and quality, including:
